Nursing Study Abroad Opportunities
By studying abroad, KCON students have a valuable opportunity to grow in their nursing knowledge and skills through unique experiences and contexts. Future nurses can set themselves apart through stretching themselves academically while having a positive real-world impact.
GVSU provides a number of study abroad opportunities, including two annual experiences designed for nursing students:
- Cape Coast, Ghana
- Dublin, Ireland

Cape Coast, Ghana
Experience Details:
- Faculty led
- Immersive clinical experience with cultural engagement
- Embedded in 3 credit summer course (first 6 weeks of summer)
- Deadlines
- Priority: December 1
- Final: February 1
Dublin, Ireland
Experience Details:
- Led by host university
- 2- or 4-week options (June-July). Academic credit varies.
- Classroom/Didactic learning, some cultural excursions
- Application opens Nov. 1
- UCD deadline to apply: March 2026
