The champion workgroups found below are centered around various IPE goals and initiatives meant to enhance interprofessional opportunities for students and increase collaboration that span across disciplines, learning institutions, and health care systems.

Clinical Settings

Long-Term Goal
- Develop model units for teaching interprofessional collaboration (IPC) and institutionalize interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional practice (IPP) across partner clinical environments.
Short-Term Goal
- Continue to identify clinical settings to develop interprofessional staff and faculty teams.

- Investigate beliefs, perceptions, and attitudes about interprofessional practice and education
- Model interprofessional practice, education, and research

- Support MIPERC conference through promotion, selection, and facilitation of conference podium presentations.
- Encourage interprofessional education/practice research through the development of seminars and workshops.

Service Learning

Long-Term Goal
- The development of the infrastructure, implementation, and dissemination of global and local interprofessional team placements in service-learning activities relevant within each discipline’s curriculum.
Short-Term Goals
- The development of an inventory of interprofessional student learning projects across disciplines, institutions, and community partners that identify service-learning projects that are either interprofessional or have the capacity to be interprofessional.
- Contribute to and disseminate scholarly findings on collaborative interprofessional service-learning experiences.

Long-Term Goal
- To facilitate the development of interprofessional simulations to serve the educational programs and healthcare agencies throughout the Midwest.
Short-Term Goal
- Assist the MIPERC Curriculum Workgroup in providing interprofessional education activities through developing and assisting with a simulation event for PIPES.
