Description
On Thursday, January 26th at 7pm, the Kaufman Interfaith Institute, WGVU Public Media, and the Jewish Federation of Grand Rapids will host a multifaceted event to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Week. The event will include:
- A preview of L’dor v’dor: An Eternal Tree , a new WGVU documentary which tells the story of the Holocaust memorial at Frederik Meijer Gardens and explores art as education and the generational commitment to exposing atrocities against humanity.
- A panel discussion of the film with guest speakers from GVSU and the West Michigan community.
- A private viewing of two traveling art exhibits showcasing the history and resilience of the Jewish community, entitled From Darkness to Light: Mosaics Inspired by Tragedy and The Holocaust Unfolds: Reports from Detroit, 1933-1961 .
- A reception with light refreshments.
The event is free but registration is required. Parking information will be provided via email for registrants in the days leading up to the event.
