Join us for a meal with meaning.
Get to know your fellow Lakers from across different religious, secular, and spiritual identities and traditions over a free dinner and intentional, facilitated conversation. This is a space of deep listening, connection, and dialogue - a chance to learn from the experiences of others and share about your own while breaking bread together.
Each month we will discuss a different topic pertaining to religion and spirituality.
All GVSU students, faculty, & staff are welcome.
These dinner-and-dialogue spaces are small, intentional, and deeply meaningful. We will bring folks together around topics pertaining to religion/spirituality that are sometimes challenging to discuss. Come to develop dialogue and deep listening skills while connecting with folks who may believe or practice differently from you.
Like all Kaufman spaces, these dinners are proselytization-free zones, which means no one pressures anyone to convert or change their beliefs. Instead, we show up to learn from each other's experiences and listen respectfully to what they have to say. Lakers of any, all, and no religious/spiritual worldviews are welcome around the table.
Nightly Schedule:
- 6pm - Welcome, Introductions, & Community Agreements
- 6:30pm - Dinner & Conversation at Tables
- 7:15pm - Large Group Share-Out
Our 26-27 Know Your Neighbor Dinners will take place on the following Mondays from 6-7:30pm. All dinners will take place in Kirkhof 2270 (with the exception of *November's event*).

Dinners are free but registration is required! Folks can sign up until noon on the day of each event. Please email Liz English with any questions.
