The 2019-2020 Kaufman Interfaith Scholars Community Mobilization Task Force organized the Big Change Resource Drive. This task force strived to meet the needs of the most under resourced populations in the greater Grand Rapids area. Three main organizations were selected as partner organizations, En Vivo Church, Community Food Club and the Roosevelt Park Neighborhood. Through grassroots broad based community organizing conversations these organizations expressed specific needs which aligned with the passions of this task force. The Community Mobilization Task Force expanded its community partnerships as needs were met, other needs were identified and momentum built. They believed that small actions x lots of people = great change. 

This task force collected technology for elderly isolated residents, staple food and toiletry goods as well as funds. Donation were collected at the locations listed below.

Roosevelt Park Neighbors Toiletry and Food Care Packages

Items were donated at the Roosevelt Park Neighborhood Association. 1260 Grandville Ave SW. Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Leave donations in the red tub outside the door from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. M-F. These items were delivered in care packages to each family in need. 

Community Food Club Food and Monetary Drive

For cereal, cooking oil, soups, rice, dry beans, baby food, formula or diapers donations arrangements for drop offs can be made by calling (616) 288-5550 or by emailing [email protected]. Monetary donations can be made here or mailed to 1100 S. Division, Grand Rapids, MI 49507.

Technology Donations to En Vivo Church community

Working condition tablets or laptops were donated to a box at 121 Sweet St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
