Yes! Alumni may participate in all IM sport leagues and events. However, alumni must have a membership to the facility in which the sports are being played. For example, if an alumni wanted to play IM basketball, then they must have an active membership to the Recreation Center in order to enter the facility. Please note that this is not included in the IM league passes. Please visit the Athletic and Rec Facilities website for more information on memberships.
Check IMLeagues before your game to confirm your name is listed under the correct team. If you believe there’s an error, speak to the supervisor before the game begins or contact us at [email protected]
You must appear on the roster before you play. Make sure to finalize your registration ASAP. If there are any issues, please let a supervisor know or contact us at [email protected]
Your team would be unapproved and likely moved to the waitlist. From here, you either can try to recruit players to your team by contacting free agents or tell your friends to join the team so you can meet the minimum, then we will move your team back into the league.
If your team doesn’t meet the required minimum number of players by game time, it is a forfeit. If you have one player checked in by game time, but don’t meet the minimum number of players, we allow a 5-minute grace period.
Communicate with your team early, arrive 10 minutes before game time, and confirm the schedule each week.
If your team gets forfeited against, your team will take a WIN in the standings on IMLeagues. We do our best to allow pickup or ask another team to stay and play for a fun-based game during your scheduled game time.
The office may remove them from the schedule and offer their time slot to other teams.
Officials are trained student referees. They focus on safety, fairness, and game flow. They're constantly learning, improving, and adapting each week.
Early calls help set the tone for a safe game. In sports like basketball and soccer, we emphasize hand checks, body contact, and small fouls early to prevent games from getting overly physical later. Safety is a top priority!
Ask the official calmly for clarification during a natural break in play. Arguing, dissent, or hostility may result in penalties or carding.
Yes. Officials may pause to discuss a call to ensure accuracy, especially during complex plays.
Officials are selected based on performance, consistency, confidence, rule knowledge, and ability to handle intense games.
Supervisors will respond, provide first aid/ice, and complete an injury report. Severe injuries may require EMS.
Sometimes games pause while staff assist. We work to keep the schedule on track but prioritize participant safety. Intramural sports staff will assess postponing or rescheduling games based on the severity of the incident.
Upon registering, all participants agree to play at the offered game times. Our scheduling is based upon facility availability and late game times are just part of the program operations.

Yes! FREE Drop-ins (cornhole/spikeball, wheelchair sports, etc.) are open to any participant unless otherwise stated. We require participants to join on IMLeagues for attendance and liability reasons.
No pre-registration needed, but you will be required to join on IMLeagues prior to participation. Just show up and supervisors will organize games based on turnout.
