Faculty & Staff Group Fitness

Join fellow GVSU faculty and staff for group fitness classes! The next 6-week session begins May 12-June 20, 2025. Each class is offered at $35 per 6-week class. Strengthen your core, work up a sweat with spin, or clear your mind with a yoga class.


Yoga

Instructor: Laura Armenta
Class Offerings:

  • Tuesday: 12:00-1:00 p.m., FH 160 - Fieldhouse Dance Studio (Allendale)
  • Wednesday: 5:15-6:15 p.m., Bicycle Factory (Grand Rapids)

Join us for a transformative journey through movement and mindfulness in a Dynamic Flow Yoga class. This yoga session will seamlessly blend energizing asanas with soothing pranayama techniques, striking a balance between dynamic sequences to invigorate the body and restorative flows to calm the mind. Whether you're new to yoga or seasoned on the mat, discover inner harmony and physical vitality with each breath.

Burn & Sculpt

Class Offerings:

  • Tuesday: 5:15-6:15 p.m., Bicycle Factory (Grand Rapids)
  • Friday: 12:00-1:00 p.m., FH 160 - Fieldhouse Dance Studio (Allendale) 

This class is designed to build your strength and sculpt muscle all while improving your cardiovascular system with bursts of cardio training. This class includes intervals of body weight exercises, standing cardio, and finishes with core training and stretching for a complete workout. Please bring weights, towel and a mat.

Joy Ride Cycle

Class Offerings:

  • Thursday: 6:45-7:30 a.m., RC D030 - Instructional Fitness Studio (Allendale)

Join Joy for 45 minutes of a combination of strength, endurance and interval training. Great workout for people who want both cardio and strength without the impact on the knees. Beginners through advanced riders. Many ways to customize your ride. Each class has a warm up and cool down and a stretch at the end, along with a positive message for the day!
