Premiere set for 23rd Summer Film Project "For the Birds"

"For the Birds," the 23rd annual Summer Film Project at Grand Valley, will make its debut on the silver screen during an upcoming screening. The event will take place April 26 at Celebration! Cinema North and IMAX, located at 2121 Celebration Drive NE in Grand Rapids. "For the Birds" was written by James Sturtridge, a senior majoring in film and video production who also served as first assistant director on the crew.

23rd annual Summer Film, "For the Birds," wraps production

The 23rd annual Summer Film Project wrapped production on July 28 after two weeks of filming at various locations around West Michigan. Since 1994, the Summer Film Project has provided students with the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals while producing a feature length film. This year's crew consisted of more than 25 Grand Valley students, faculty, and professionals along with six professional actors from Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, and West Michigan. This year's screenplay was written by James Sturtrid

Summer Film Project marks 20th anniversary

Filming is underway for the Summer Film Project. "Lucky Jay" was written and directed by John Harper Philbin, associate professor of Film and Video Production.
