Alumnus Kenny Porter is a comic book writer. Porter was a writing major at Grand Valley. He poses in Vault of Midnight, a local downtown Grand Rapids comic book shop, where his books are sold.

GVSU graduate turns a love for storytelling into a career writing comics

Porter's first opportunity with DC came as a horror short story starring Green Lantern for “Cursed Comics Cavalcade No. 1.” From there, he received more opportunities to write for DC, including series like “DC Mech,” “Superboy,” and “The Flash.”
