Computer science students show off capstone projects
An app that helps cancer patients manage the side effects of their treatment, an app that helps college students better manage their budget, and a tool to help record and share the location of bike trails are just some of the projects that more than 30 Grand Valley computer science students worked on as part of their senior capstone class.

Alumna improves guest experiences at Disney through statistics
Elizabeth "Biz" Stolzs job is to make the most magical place on Earth that much more magical. The 2014 alumna currently works as an experience insights senior analyst at Disney Parks and Resorts in Orlando, Florida. During her daily work, Stolz analyzes various data sets from different lines of business at Disney to improve the guest experience at the parks and resorts. The types of data she works with include anything from resort and dining reservations to FastPass+ bookings.

Groundswell awarded grant for outdoor education experiences for GRPS students
A new initiative will create outdoor education experiences for all PreK-12 students in Grand Rapids Public Schools. This initiative, Grand Rapids Environmental Education Network (GREEN), received a $300,000 grant from the Wege Foundation.

Grant will support aging in place by providing onsite care to low-income seniors
Through a $493,690 grant from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, teams of Grand Valley faculty members and students will provide onsite care to older adults and senior citizens who are income-eligible or disabled.
