2020 MAGS DISTINGUISHED MASTER'S THESIS AWARD NOMINEES ANNOUNCED

The Midwest Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Distinguished Master’s Thesis Awards are to recognize and reward distinguished scholarship and research at the master’s level. The MAGS GVSU Thesis Review Committee has recently selected both Joseph Altobelli and Molly Stabler as nominees for their master's theses.

Joseph received his Master of Science in Biology degree in 2017. His thesis, Nest-Site Selection and Neonate Survival of Eastern Box Turtles (Terrapene carolina carolina) in Michigan's Northern Lower Peninsula, is the nominee for the Biological/Life Sciences category.

Molly Stabler received her Master of Arts in English degree in 2018. Her thesis, A Maze to Grace: Ted Hughes's Casting of The Myth of the Minotaur in Birthday Letters, is the nominee for the Humanities category.

The review committee deemed both of these theses to be the strongest representation of GVSU's graduate student thesis work from the past two academic years. The Graduate School will submit a copy of both of their theses for consideration by a committee from MAGS and a winner will be announced in early 2020. Congratulations to both Joseph and Molly!
