The Injury Care Clinic Provides Quality Treatment to the GV Community

The Injury Care Clinic on GVSU’s Allendale campus opened its doors in 2014 and since opening, the clinic has received more than 5,000 visits. The Injury Care Clinic is open to GVSU students, staff, and community members. The clinic is free to all patients and operates on a “first come, first serve” basis. The only cost associated with the Injury Care Clinic is any additional supplies that the patient may need, for example, an ace bandage, crutches, splint, etc. The most common injuries treated are ankle sprains, low back pain, and chronic tendinitis conditions.

In effort to serve the Grand Valley community, the services include:

  • Injury Evaluation
  • Treatment and Rehabilitation of Injuries
  • Preventative Measures
  • Basic Taping upon Request
  • Acute Injury Care
  • Stretching Techniques
  • Professional Referrals
  • Availability of Supplies

The clinic is staffed by two athletic trainers from Metro Health and a Grand Valley graduate assistant. During the academic year, the clinic is open from 2 to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
