Criteria for the honor society include a minimum GPA of 3.85 and outstanding performance in scholarship, teaching, research and community service. Election to Delta Omega recognizes merit and encourages devotion to public health work and a connection to GVSU's Public Health Department.

Delta Omega has more than 130 active chapters.
