Lindy Grunow, Facilities Services
Lindy Grunow, maintenance custodian, died March 18, 2023 at her home. She was 58.
Grunow began working for Grand Valley's Facilities Services in 2002. She was active in the union, including serving as vice president.
Rence Meredith, assistant vice president for Facilities Services, said: "Lindy was as energetic as anyone in the Facilities Services department. She inspired us all from the work she did and her love of Grand Valley. She will be missed but is forever a Laker for a Lifetime."
Lindy and Patrick Grunow had four children and 10 grandchildren.
Richard Gonce, retired faculty member
Richard Gonce, retired professor of economics, died March 24, 2023. He was 90.
He joined Grand Valley's faculty in 1972 and retired in 1999. Prior to teaching at GVSU, Gonce taught at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania after earning a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin.
A memorial service was held April 12.
