The Admissions and Recruitment Office hosted high school counselors from Pakistan in July, through a collaboration with other Michigan colleges and universities.

Andrea Johnson, admissions recruiter, said 10 counselors affiliated with EducationUSA visited Michigan in mid-July. They attended a conference in Florida and were later hosted by Study Michigan, an organization that promotes Michigan as an education destination for international students.

During their Grand Valley visit, the counselors toured the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center and Interprofessional Simulation Center on the Pew Grand Rapids and Health campuses, and the Meijer Honors College on the Allendale Campus.

"We hope these counselors take these experiences back to their students and share with them the importance and quality of a GVSU education," Johnson said.

Johnson said she and Chris Hendree, associate director for International Recruitment, will plan to work with the counselors from Pakistan to host virtual recruitment events.
