Senior director for ACE will deliver Teach-In keynote

The Teach-In on November 12-13 offers sessions planned by students, faculty and staff that are focused on raising awareness and inspiring actions.

Emmanual Guillory will open the annual event with a keynote address, "The Future of Higher Education," on November 12, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the L. William Seidman Center. Guillory is the senior director of Government Relations at the American Council on Education and manages a broad portfolio of legislative and regulatory issues related to higher education. 

Guillory also leads a nonprofit that awards student scholarships and lectures through the Archers Fellowship Program in the University of Texas System. He held leadership roles at the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and the United Negro College Fund and spent a decade in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Teach-In sessions will be on both the City and Valley campuses. Sessions on November 12 will run from noon to 7:50 p.m. at the Seidman Center. November 13 sessions run from 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center. A plenary student panel closes the event.

The schedule of presentations will be posted online by November 4.
