The Provost's Office and Admissions partnered to host a professional development workshop for area high school counselors March 17 at the DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health.

About 30 people heard presentations from the Michigan Department of Education and learned more about the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy, dual enrollment partnerships and direct credit, among other topics.

Grand Valley speakers were Mike Eichberger, associate director for Admissions and Recruitment, and Michael Vrooman, associate professor of Spanish. Teresa Beck, senior associate dean for the College of Health Professions, and Erica Hamilton, assistant vice president for Academic Affairs, provided opening remarks.

MDE's Jeff McNeal and Candace Vinson led presentations. Matthew Colver, operations manager for the Simulation Center, led a tour of that space following the workshop.
