The Provost's Office and Admissions partnered to host a professional
development workshop for area high school counselors March 17 at the
DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health.
About 30 people heard presentations from the Michigan Department of
Education and learned more about the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy, dual
enrollment partnerships and direct credit, among other topics.
Grand Valley speakers were Mike Eichberger, associate director for
Admissions and Recruitment, and Michael Vrooman, associate professor
of Spanish. Teresa Beck, senior associate dean for the College of
Health Professions, and Erica Hamilton, assistant vice president for
Academic Affairs, provided opening remarks.
MDE's Jeff McNeal and Candace Vinson led presentations. Matthew
Colver, operations manager for the Simulation Center, led a tour of
that space following the workshop.
