Campus food drive helps Lakers keep food on tables

Giving Tuesday is December 1 and Replenish, a program housed in the Center for Women and Gender Equity, needs support to keep its shelves full.

Now through December 4, faculty, staff and students can donate non-perishable food and personal care items during the campus-wide food drive.

Items can be dropped off at any of the 20+ collection boxes on the Valley and City campuses. Priority items include canned goods, rice, toiletries and baby products. You can view the full list of requested items on the Giving Tuesday website.

The need is significant. Last year, the food drive brought in 5,500 pounds of goods for Replenish. Yet annually, the program distributes 30,000 pounds of goods to Lakers.

With more than 1,000 individuals visiting Replenish each academic year, support from the entire GVSU community is critical to keep shelves stocked and ready to serve students.

To extend your impact, consider making a gift directly to the Replenish Student Food Resource Fund.
