Following a successful inaugural event in 2025, the GV Technology Summit returns November 3 for its second year. Building on last year’s event, the 2026 summit will feature new elements and a full day of opportunities to explore technology-driven work happening across the university.

The summit is chaired by Eric Bellmore, director of Academic Research Computing, who said feedback led to planning a full day of presentations and discussions. 

“When we decided to bring back the GV Technology Summit for a second year, we wanted to take the lessons learned from 2025 and make it even more impactful and engaging for attendees,” Bellmore said. “Based on feedback, we have made changes to give attendees more opportunities to hear from presenters and network with colleagues and technology vendors. Attendees can join us for the entire day or attend sessions as their schedules allow.”

The GV Technology Summit will take place Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Kirkhof Center on the Valley Campus. The event is free and open to all GVSU students, faculty and staff but does require registration.

Hosted by Information Technology in collaboration with many campus departments and colleges, the summit will feature:

• Keynote presentation from Imran Mazid, associate professor of advertising and public relations, "AI Anxiety to AI Agency"
• Panel discussion focused on high-performance computing across GVSU
• Breakout sessions and poster presentations on topics such as AI, accessibility, cybersecurity, infrastructure, immersive technology, digital learning and student innovation
• Tours of spaces using emerging technologies
• A conversation about the Blue Dot Ecosystem
• Opportunities to network with colleagues and technology vendors
