Students can explore study abroad opportunities at the Study Abroad Fair, hosted by the Padnos International Center, on September 18 in the Kirkhof Center, Grand River Room, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Kyle Latchana, study abroad assistant outreach coordinator, said study abroad "takes classroom courses and learning to an entirely different level."

"Students gain new insights into cultural awareness, global perspectives and how their knowledge can be applied worldwide," Latchana said.

Program directors, past participants and academic advisors will be available to answer questions.

The international center hosted the Global Laker Festival earlier in the month. Several games were scattered around the Kirkhof Center lawn and informational booths were staffed by study abroad, Modern Languages and Literatures, Global Studies and the GVSU Art Gallery.

Alissa Lane, international programs specialist, said these two September events aim to increase awareness of other cultures and perhaps develop connections among global Lakers.

There are study abroad opportunities for every academic program. Visit the GVSU Study Abroad website or send an email to [email protected] for more information.
