Mission: Finance & Administration is a multifunctional team that provides comprehensive support services to the university.

Division Goals:
- Optimize space utilization.
- Encourage creative thinking of space utilization and allocation for the University.
- Adapt standards to meet current workplace demands.
- Optimize efficiency & effectiveness.
- Leverage Technology to optimize service delivery.
- Drive the standardization for effective process and procedures.
- Demonstrate overreaching division-wide metrics for B&F, Facilities, DPS, etc.
- Demonstrate care for people & culture.
- Reimagine culture through operational, organizational and leadership effectiveness.
- Increase employee engagement – i.e.: F&A Newsletter, Forum for Downtown Staff, Greg attending dept. Staff Meetings, etc.
- Talent Acquisition – Hiring people that fit the F&A Culture.
- Support Student Learning.
- Strengthen the University’s long-term financial position through disciplined budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning. Proactively manage debt, capital investments, and financial risk to protect institutional resilience.
- Position the University as a model for campus safety through proactive prevention, rapid response, and visible community partnership.
- Position Athletics for Future success and opportunities in a shifting NCAA landscape through operational excellence, strategic investment, and championship-caliber facilities and support.
Gregory J. Sanial is Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO and Treasurer for the GVSU Board of Trustees and the Grand Valley University Foundation. As Chief Financial Officer, Greg is responsible for budgets and financial reporting, procurement, payroll, student accounts, facilities services and planning, public safety, athletics, risk management, and auxiliary operations which include the GVSU Laker Store, Campus Dining, Conference and Event Planning, The Meadows Golf Club and the Muskegon Innovation Hub.
Dr. Greg Sanial joined Grand Valley State University as its Vice President for Finance and Administration on May 1, 2018. Dr. Sanial was previously employed by the United States Coast Guard and held leadership roles in financial management, operations and organizational leadership.
