Pew FTLC - Preparing Education Students to Become Linguistically Sustaining Practitioners to Support Multilingual Learners Learning Community (LC)
Description
The earner of this badge has collaborated with fellow Early Childhood, Elementary Literacy, Secondary ELA, and Secondary TESOL teacher preparation program faculty to explore opportunities to deepen undergraduate pre-service teacher candidates’ understanding and application of instruction to support English Language Learners and build capacity to interact with learners, families, and communities across diverse languages and cultural backgrounds. The earner of this badge has collaborated cross-departmentally to foster shared language and practices in support of pre-service teachers working with English learners.
Silver Level Criteria
Participate fully in this semester-long Learning Community (LC) and submit a Learning Community Participation Grant Final Report via the online grant system within 30 days of the final meeting.
Gold Level Criteria
Complete the silver badge and then provide evidence of continued implementation or dissemination related to the LC, either through a development of a new course, invited campus presentation, conference presentation or publication.
To earn a gold badge as an FLC facilitator, participate in a facilitator orientation session and submit a reflection about the experience of serving in this leadership capacity. For those unable to attend a face-to-face session, submit an additional written reflection on the assigned orientation readings.
