Pew FTLC - How to Incorporate Undergraduate Research into Courses Learning Community (LC)

Description

Recognizing the immense value of providing students with research experiences that go beyond traditional classroom learning, the earner of this badge has collaborated with fellow faculty to explore how to incorporate research into the classroom experience. Earners of this badge have explored how other GVSU faculty have embedded research experiences into their coursework and will have strategized ways to envision undergraduate research in their courses.

Silver Level Criteria

Participate fully in this year-long Learning Community (LC) and submit a Learning Community Participation Grant Final Report via the online grant system within 30 days of the final meeting.

Gold Level Criteria

Complete the silver badge and then provide evidence of continued implementation or dissemination related to the LC, either through a development of a new course, invited campus presentation, conference presentation or publication.

To earn a gold badge as an FLC facilitator, participate in a facilitator orientation session and submit a reflection about the experience of serving in this leadership capacity.  For those unable to attend a face-to-face session, submit an additional written reflection on the assigned orientation readings.
