Description of the Organization

Oliver Healthcare Packaging (OHCP) is one of the largest medical packaging manufacturers in the world. OHCP has locations globally, but I worked at the Grand Rapids facility.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I wrote software for industrial applications using Python, Visual Basic, and HTML. I also performed mechanical design, circuit analysis, and statistical process control among numerous other things.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I learned countless things throughout this Co-Op rotation, but specifically I learned about Statistical Process Control and how to automate it and integrate into a production environment. I also learned how to interface software with industrial equipment.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part of this Co-Op experience was being able to apply what I learned in class to the real world. Additionally, I enjoyed being able to understand and learn new things using the fundamental knowledge that I gained in my coursework.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience has helped me to refine what I want to do with my career by getting me first-hand experience working with professionals already in the positions that I would like to be in.
