Description of the Organization
Koops builds and specializes in factory automation. Custom, automated machine concepts are created, designed, machined, assembled, and launched in this company. They work with the auto companies, medical, jewelry, and other high volume processes.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
While my time at this company, I was able to work first hand on the automated equipment. I was able to troubleshoot problems, ensure proper assembly of the parts and overall prove out of the machines. I was also able to install, power up, and service the machines that this company put into factories.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained hands on experience with heavy industrial equipment and how to communicate with customers and handle a large project. I learned how a complicated piece of equipment is put together and how those parts work together to preform the desired task.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I was able to take full responsibility for one of the companies project and make it my own. I worked through issues and and made machine changes in order to achieve the designed process.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has reassured me of the field that i am going into and it has showed me the different types of engineering. This company has many different areas of engineering and I was able to try each area out to get a feel for it.
