Description of the Organization
Trane Creative Solutions (TCS) is a brand of Trane Technologies. The main focus is to modify factory equipment received from other factories to the customers' requests. This consist of specializing a unit to best suit the customer's needs. TCS has a standard structure in that the plants are organized by teams such as sales team, materials department, production floor, and engineering department. Request are sent to sales and the feasibility/clarification are completed and sent to the project managers which then hand it off to engineering. Engineering designs and request appropriate components for the job and then the job is sent to production for modification.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
During the third rotation, I was responsible for updating work standard documents for the production floor. I also was responsible for hosting a weekly quality log meeting in efforts to learn from engineering mistakes. Lastly, I worked through an A3 project in efforts to reduce warranty spendings caused by engineering.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
JobBOSS, AutoCAD, Teams, Tracer TU, Electrical sizing, Electrical Diagrams/Schematics Programming, Excel, and furthered my internal communication skills.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this experience was my co-workers. Not only were they helpful when I did not understand something, but they were fun to be around.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I have enjoyed working at a place that emphasizes on the custom part of the business in that every day is a little different. It has helped me realize I want to work in a similar environment where something different is coming through the door every day.
