Description of the Organization
Twisthink is design and technology company based out of Holland, Mi. The company works mostly with embedded systems covering a very wide range of applications.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
This co-op term I modified a refrigerator with sensors to monitor the state of the light, the door, and monitor power consumption. These signals were then sent to a M2M router which made the data available online. I also worked a lot with some motion sensors, doing testing and data analysis. The rest of my time was spent doing a lot of ground truthing for sensors for several different applications.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
From this co-op semester I learned a lot about MATLAB and GUI creation. I also learned a lot about machine learning and image acquisition algorithms.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of my co-op semester was improving my programming skills using MATLAB and using MATLAB as a data analytics tool
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has introduced me to a different field of engineering which I had not really thought much about previously. This field previously mentioned is image processing, data analytics, and algorithm development.
