Description of the Organization
I worked closely with Mr. Baechler (AD) and Mrs. VanDerRoest (Administrative Assistant). While I did meet many coaches and teachers, I mainly worked with those two on tasks/projects.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
One of the projects that I did was on a program called GoFan. This program allows you to track rosters, scheduling for teams, player eligibility etc. The main task that I did on here was update rosters transfer them onto the website. Another task that I did involved pay to play. All families must pay a couple hundred dollars to have a student athlete play a sport for the school. I checked, updated, and contacted the families who had not payed on time.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
One skill that I gained was the ability to use different programs. The athletic department uses many different programs and I learned how to use a few of them. Another skill that I learned networking. I was able to meet so many great people that could serve as potential contacts as I look to advance in the sport industry.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this internship was the people that I got to meet. Everyone was super nice and would always answer my questions whenever I had any.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This internship made me interested in possibly becoming an Athletic Director. I really like how each day is different and it seems like a career that I would enjoy.
