Description of the Organization
GHSP is an electronics manufacturing company in Grand Haven Michigan. It is composed of several buildings around the city and the world. I work in the building which houses software development, software testing, and IT.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
While working at GHSP this winter I worked on flashing of ICs for police cruisers, and the testing of embedded systems controlling the transmission pump of automobiles.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Through this experience I learned a significant amount about the coding language C#, EEPROM development, and robustness testing.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of my Co Op experience was working on a test bench we call the mystery machine. It is a robust piece of equipment that has power supplies, a dynamometer, flashing capabilities, and a PXI chassis extension. It was fantastic watching code I had written in C# transfer to a part which was connected by three banana cables. This really opened my eyes to the capabilities of computers in hardware and software development

This experience has influenced my career goals by making me realize there is use for computer engineers in all fields.
