Dominion Systems, Located downtown Grand Rapids with just a little over 50 employees, is a software company that provides a web service which enables businesses to streamline their payroll, time and attendance, and HR processes.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Tasks, assignments, and projects that were worked on at Dominion Systems varied from bug fixes, redesign of pages, and complete rework of pages on our web application.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Learned how to program in c#, vb.net, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, and html/CSS. On top of that I was able to see first hand how a full and very complex web application works, with that being said I got exposure to Architecture design and learning how to critically think and problem solve.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The people, everyone at Dominion was extremely nice and helpful.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Before working here I had what field and work I wanted to do set in my mind, Dominion Systems did not align at all with this but working at Dominion has definitely opened my mind. In addition to that, what I have learned at dominion will help me achieve future career goals.
