JR Automation is a global company with experience in a wide variety of industries including automotive, medical, and aerospace. The controls department works in small teams on specific projects. Usually a Lead Engineer and 1-2 Controls Engineers.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I was not treated like an intern during this rotation. The project I was assigned to demanded that I learn fast and become a real part of the team. I believe I rose to the challenge and was able to hold my own for the project.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
PLC programming experience, Fanuc robot programming experience, as well as process automation experience
Favorite Part of the Experience
Being treated like a real part of the team, yet also being able to ask questions when I needed.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I will most likely go for a job at JR, however this upcoming semester will focus more on software and security side of Computer Engineering and I am excited to see what opportunities that may bring.
