Description of the Organization
Dematic Corp is a logistics engineering corporation. We provide logistic solutions (conveyor, sortation, storage, etc) for our customers.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
AutoCAD, ELMII, and SMM were all software (some developed by Dematic) used to create a layout for a customer, order it, track it to the site, and observe it being built.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
This was my third time in this position, and I was given a ton more responsibility. A ton of professional experience, and company software experience was developed.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The traveling to other sites. I traveled to a site 3 times (all two-week stints) in which I was on site by myself supervising the installation and problem solving conveyor and conveyor issues.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Logistics solutions development is not a career for everyone, but it seems to be a good fit for me, I look forward to stepping into a full time position here when I graduate from GVSU!
