Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

Entailed how to understand the process and procedure of a digital design of a cell. Then how to apply the concepts from that to the actual construction and set-up of the cell it self. Modifying and adapting to new constraints and limitations from actual construction of cell. Finally, learning how to debug HMI software, FANUC robots, and PLC software.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

Learning the basics of working with FANUC Robotics. This included teaching points, constructing DCS zones, and writing simple logic for programs on the teach pendant. Also built upon my PLC and HMI expertise on both the hardware and software sides. Learned how to adapt and perform with different groups of people and when to take charge.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part of the experience was working on the construction/set-up of the cell. During this time I was able to do a bit of everything. That and it was very fast-paced as we had a deadline approaching shortly. The setup created the basic necessities for the cell to get it up and running.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience helped me realize that I still want to continue learning. That and I enjoy pushing/testing myself. I do well in high-stress situations and the more I am apart of the better I am able to adapt and take action in the situation. I also realized from this experience I want to broaden my horizons and explore what else the engineering field has to offer me in regards to applications. In regards to both the software and hardware side of Computer Engineering.
