Description of the Organization
JR Automation Technologies, LLC integrates fully automated systems. This involves using robot arms to perform tasks, creating stand-alone machines, and complex systems of machines.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
The role I played this semester was a concept and cost development engineer. Customers submit requests for quotations (RFQs) and we are responsible for providing a solution and costs. Projects involved degating machines, automated assembly systems, welding and pressing applications, and clip driving machines.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I was able to convey technical information with other engineers in meetings. I was able to meet with customers and vendors regarding specific projects. I created concepts and developed a budget for these quotations as well.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part was being able to lead meetings and presenting concepts to other engineers.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It made me realize that I want to work for an automation integrator. Comparing it to companies that were responsible for only one type of part, my experience made me realize that I want to work somewhere where many types of applications are dealt with, like JR Automation.
