Description of the Organization
Active Inspection is an engineering-focused company that was started in 2001. We work to provide automated machine vision solutions for manufacturers.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked closely with engineers to fix bugs, develop support for machine vision libraries, and test software before release. I helped the marketing team update the company website and give presentations to current and potential customers.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned how to properly manage native memory in the C# language. I learned about the standard flow of an image acquisition stack. I learned about the MVVM structure for a Microsoft WPF application.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Fixing bugs and potential memory leaks within a new application were enjoyable and was a good avenue for learning about how applications are built.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
My experience this semester has given me a better understanding of the type of engineering that I would be interested in working on. By having a variety of projects at different levels of development, I was given insight into what I need to put time towards learning outside of classes.
