Description of the Organization
Shape Corp. is primarily a steel roll forming manufacturer specializing in automotive bumpers doing their own R & D in materials reducing the damage taken in pedestrian-auto collisions.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
The picture attached is a picture of the biggest project i had this semester. It controlled a pneumatic cylinder that cycled in and out on a predetermined duty cycle and kept track of the # of cycles. It was implemented to test the durability of a new wire wheel system to de-burr the sharp parts.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
PLC programming, Purchasing, and a better Time Management system
Favorite Part of the Experience
Starting on a project from scratch and seeing it all the way through implementation with very few issues.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It gave me a good look into the Industrial controls side of Electrical Engineering.
