Description of the Organization
Dematic has developed a range of world class warehouse logistics and material handling system solutions, which can be configured by our regional consultancy teams to meet each customer's specific needs. Dematic material handling systems are chiefly manufactured from in-house equipment, controls and IT, which enables better results for clients and a single point of responsibility for outcomes.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Electrical layout of component used in the conveyor system. Review of drawings. Review of PLC codes. Description of Operation for a system. AutoCAD work and simulation of PLC programs and making any changes needed
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Gained more skills in PLC programming and a company software that is used for input/outputs that are later exported to the PLC program
Favorite Part of the Experience
The favorite part of this co-op experience was being able to design the electrical layout for a conveyor system, and simulating the PLC program and fixing errors that the program had.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experienced has made it easier to make up my mind of what kind of work I would like to get into. I would like to continue in the controls field.
