Description of the Organization

Innotec is an engineering company that manufactures automotive, consumer, office and commercial vehicle products.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

My projects were based on increasing the efficiency of the assembly line I was assigned to. During this work experience I designed an automatic oiling and filtering system that replaced an operator that manually filled and filtered the contaminated oil. I installed and fabricated a carrier steel straightening system that prevented 50 weekly interventions and 2.4 hours of downtime. I participated in many small installations around the line that increased production by 20%.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

1. The process of professionally designing a machine and sending it out for quoting. 2. How to troubleshoot system errors around the assembly line. 3. How to think of ways to improve components and machines. 4. How to set up and prepare for formal meetings. 5. How to implement quality checks on products. 6. Multitasking.

Favorite Part of the Experience

The culture of the environment I was in. This was a calm facility where you were not judged on how much you knew from the start. I was able to jump right into meetings and constantly learn what I wanted to learn. This company did not set limits on what I can do and just let me take on projects how I felt by giving me helpful advice along the way.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience did not change any of my future goals but it did give me professional experience with troubleshooting problems. After this experience I feel more capable of becoming an entrepreneur.
