Description of the Organization
Navico Group is a company that designs and produces many different types of boating and fishing equipment. Navico Group is a division of Brunswick Corporation and is a supplier to many other manufacturers in the marine industry.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
A few tasks and projects that I worked on over the course of the semester included fixture design and construction, new product testing, PLC controls integration, python coding, and assisting in prototype builds.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Two specific skills that I learned over the course of the semester were ladder logic within Unitronics PLC software and a better understand of using Solidworks.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this co-op rotation was how diverse the work was. Everyday seemed to be a new and different experience which made the job very exciting.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Working at Navico Group has influenced me to stay in the consumer goods industry, more specifically the outdoor sports industry. The outdoors have always been one of my passions, so being able to work in the industry designing products to improve the consumer experience would be a dream come true.
