Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked in the Quality Control lab, testing new products and old to ensure they meet up to standards largely created by the marine industry.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
This experience largely helped to promote me thinking on my feet, reacting to situations during testing that were unforeseen.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The fact that its so hands on, it enables students to really build tests to suit a purpose and then use those tests to determine how well a given product works and when it will fail.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has given a greater insight as to how important a quality control element is in Engineering. Without dedicated staff assisting engineers, the engineers would get bogged down in testing and end up being inefficient.
