SoundOff Signal is a rapidly growing emergency lighting company based in Hudsonville with around 550 employees.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Documentation, including project requirements documents, certification documents, and DFMEA. Continued to build experience with mechanical design and development validation testing. Worked with external suppliers and dealerships. Introduced to injection molded parts.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I expanded on my ability to communicate both within the company and with external parties. I increased my competence in 3D modeling, and gained valuable experience with documentation. Several of the projects that I worked on required extensive communication between departments.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this experience was the opportunity to work with suppliers and dealerships.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has helped me understand the importance of documentation in engineering projects, and has helped me realize that I am looking for a position where I have the opportunity to communicate with suppliers and customers.
