The Holland location houses one of its manufacturing facilities and offices. Magna Mirrors typically operates within a hierarchical organizational structure common to large manufacturing companies, with departments such as engineering, production, quality control, sales, and administration. In terms of size, Magna Mirrors in Holland employs a few hundred employees. Magna International as a whole has a significant global presence, operating in various countries and serving major automotive manufacturers worldwide.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer my responsibilities included, but were not limited to, process optimization, technology integration, design and development, quality assurance, project management, troubleshooting, collaboration and communication, continuous improvement, compliance and safety, training and documentation.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

Skills and knowledge gained during this Co-op rotation included technical proficiency, problem-solving, project management, continuous improvement, quality control, collaboration, adaptability, regulatory compliance, documentation, data analysis.

Favorite Part of the Experience

The hands-on application of gained skills to solve real-world manufacturing challenges was the most rewarding aspect of an internship or co-op in advanced manufacturing. This involved seeing the tangible results of process improvements, witnessing the implementation of new technologies, or successfully resolving complex issues within a production environment. The ability to learn from experienced professionals, work on diverse projects, and contribute to meaningful advancements in manufacturing processes was also be highly gratifying.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

My internship in advanced manufacturing was incredibly influential, shaping my perspective on the practical application of innovative technologies within production processes. The hands-on experience in problem-solving and system optimization ignited my passion for enhancing efficiency and quality in manufacturing. It fueled a desire to explore specialized areas within the field, aiming to contribute to groundbreaking advancements and continual improvement in manufacturing practices.
