Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

My primary responsibilities include curating research papers, developing a user-friendly AIchatbot, enhancing its functionality with NLP techniques, integrating it into our data analysis workflow, leading the development of an in-house data analysis system, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user training sessions, and continually improving both the chatbot and data analysis system based on user feedback.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

Through my experience at the African Collaborative Network, I have gained skills in research curation, AI chatbot development, natural language processing (NLP), data analysis, system integration, cross-functional collaboration, user training, and a commitment to continuous improvement. These skills have contributed to the success of my role and provided a strong foundation for professional growth. I have also been able to make a meaningful impact in the community by participating in weekly events such as Foods that Bind for critical conversations and the Know Your Rights program and many others.

Favorite Part of the Experience

Working for the African Collaborative Network has provided me with a sense of fulfillment and purpose, knowing that my work directly contributes to a cause or mission that I'm passionate about. The opportunity to make a positive impact on the community or cause we serve has been my favorite part of this internship. The coming-together events filled with fun, the spirit of collaboration and the opportunity to meet like-minded people have made my time at the organization truly meaningful.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience at the African Collaborative Network has significantly influenced my future career goals in two key ways: Through my work with charity organization, I've developed a deep appreciation for the impact that these organizations can have on the community and the world. This experience has ignited a passion for working in the non-profit sector and has solidified my commitment to contributing to meaningful causes. I see myself continuing to work for non-profits and making a positive difference in society. On the data analysis side, my experience has honed my skills in research, data processing, and the development of data analysis systems. These skills are highly transferable and in demand in various industries, not just in non-profit organizations. My experience here has broadened my career prospects in data analysis roles, particularly in areas where data-driven decision-making is essential.
