GVSU Virtual Career, Internship and Summer Job Fair

Hosted by GVSU and welcoming students from all West Michigan-area colleges and universities.
Meet with employers looking to hire for internship, seasonal, part-time and full-time opportunities, and to speak with career explorers! Virtual career fairs are online 'events' that allow employers and students to meet in virtual environments, including video, audio or text chat rooms:
- Sign up for 1:1 meetings with representatives to introduce yourself and express interest in a position. These are on a first-come, first served basis!
- During the fair, join drop-in rooms for employers who have them to ask questions, learn more about organizations, opportunities and various career paths. Filter the employer list by “drop in available”
- Career Explorers – explore various career paths and build your professional networks by meeting with employers interested in engaging with you. Filter the employer list by “open to career explorers.”
- Do this all from the comfort of your room! No lines, no travel, no parking hassle!!
How do I participate?
We will be working with Career Fair Plus to host our upcoming virtual career fair, to create an intuitive, user-friendly experience for students and employers.
- Click on the link above to access the fair and click to Login. Choose the sign up option to create a new account.
- Complete your profile and upload your resume.
- Browse employers and mark those of interest using the “favorite” feature.
- Beginning March 8, sign up for one-on-one meetings with employers. Find an employer of interest, tap Meetings, select the schedule and time that works for you and hit “YES” to book the meeting.
How do I prepare?
- Stop into the Virtual CareerLab: Career Fair Edition to get your materials ready and career fair questions answered.
- Review the resources on our career fair prep website.
- Perfect your short introduction (elevator pitch) using this guide.
- Do your research and come prepared with questions!
Day of the Fair:
- Log into your account via the app or the web portal.
- Test your technology to make sure it’s working properly before the start of the event.
- Join your virtual meeting sessions. Be sure to take notes!
