Join our panel of GVSU faculty and staff experts for a conversation focused on best-practice educational approaches and high-impact teaching/learning models. What do these mean for the advancement of learning and the future of education?

Jennifer Stewart
Associate professor of sociology
Leader in educational equity

Jennifer Stewart is an associate professor of sociology at GVSU, specializing in the sociology of race and ethnicity, as well as the sociology of food. Stewart has been awarded the Larry T. Reynolds Award for Outstanding Teaching of Sociology by the Michigan Sociological Association, as well as the MLK, Jr. Social Justice Award by Grand Valley State University.

Robert Talbert
Professor of mathematics
Leader in project and problem-based learning and flipped classrooms

Robert Talbert is professor of mathematics and Presidential Fellow for the Advancement of Learning at GVSU. He is the author of Flipped Learning: A Guide for Higher Education Facultyand a blogger on teaching, learning, and technology at rtalbert.org. In 2017-2018 he was Scholar-in-Residence with Steelcase, where he conducted research on active learning and active learning classrooms.

Quincy Williams
Director, Undergraduate and Internship Programs
School of Public, Nonprofit, Health, Hospitality and Tourism Management
Leader in experiential education

Quincy Williams serves as the director of the undergraduate and internship programs in GVSU’s School of Public, Nonprofit, and Health Administration. Prior to GVSU, Williams was the national director of internships and placement programs for the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Inc., where he designed and implemented the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance National Internship, Scholarship, and Career Placement programs.
