Sip, Stroll, and Go Behind the Scenes at the Detroit Opera House

Join fellow Lakers at the Detroit Opera House for an evening of conversation, refreshments, and exploration. We’ll gather in the Cadillac Café for light snacks, complimentary wine or water, and opening remarks from Mary Kramer ’79. Then, we will take a guided tour of this Detroit landmark, including select spaces rarely seen by the public. Weather permitting, we’ll finish with a Skydeck photo opportunity and sweeping views of the city.

5:30 p.m. | Doors open
6:00 – 7:30 p.m. | Sip & Stroll Experience

Mary Kramer ’79, former GVSU trustee and board chair, serves as a vice chair of the Detroit Opera board and recently retired as publisher and editor of Crain’s Detroit Business. Her dedication to Detroit’s revitalization makes her an ideal guide to the story behind the Detroit Opera House, which is celebrating 30 years since its restoration and remains a major anchor for downtown’s renewal. Mary will share an inside perspective on the Opera House’s role in that transformation and downtown’s continued revitalization.
