Beomkyu Choi received his Ph.D. in Cognition, Instruction, and Learning Technology from the University of Connecticut. His research focuses on how technology can enhance thinking and learning. He is particularly interested in the wise integration of technology into classroom instruction, using game-based mechanics and aesthetics to engage people, motivate action, and promote learning in the sense of playful learning from the situated cognition and sociocultural perspectives. His research has been published in Computers and Education, Computers in Human Behavior, Studies in Higher Education, Technology, Pedagogy and Education, and other peer-reviewed academic journals and book collections.
