Art Therapy Workshop

Welcome to our three-week online program on Art Therapy. The goal of this program is to provide you with some art-making interventions that can help calm the mind, promote relaxation, strengthen mindfulness, and improve coping during times of heightened stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. Engaging in the creative process can activate the imagination and help foster self-expression, problem-solving, stress management, and self-care. Remember, there are no rules about what the end project looks like, but rather the process of translating your inner experiences into visual art. If you find yourself without some of the suggested materials, feel free to adapt these activities to the supplies available to you. Consider engaging in the art activity for 25 minutes and leaving time at the end to reflect on the art process.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy engages the mind, body, and spirit in ways that are different than verbal expression alone. Art can be a powerful tool to safely give voice to your thoughts, feelings, and memories while helping to restore a sense of emotional safety and well-being. Creating art and engaging in the creative process can help achieve grounding, reflection, and growth. We hope participating in these art-making activities helps strengthen your sense of self and empowers you to regain control during these times of uncertainty and change.
