- Provide education about student mental health and holistic wellness
- Engage in responsible dialogue and action around multiculturalism and social justice
- Serve as student leaders on campus
Hello! My name is Alonda Smith and while this will be my third year at GV this is my first year as a peer educator. As a psychology major and sociology minor I focus so much on how our social interactions and surroundings influence our way of thinking, and therefore believe that we should prioritize creating a welcoming campus for all students. I’m very excited to bring mental health awareness to my campus in any way I can!
Hello! My name is Cameron Lindsay I am a second-year at Grand Valley State University. I am studying psychology and social work to be a therapist. I love gardening, coffee, and reading! My favorite days are rainy days when I get to put on my rain boots and go out to the garden, then come inside to a warm cup of coffee and my books!
Carly James, (she/her)
I am a senior at GV and will be graduating in the spring with a BS in Psychology and two minors, one in Sociology and one in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My goal is to become a licensed social worker so I can pursue counseling as my career. For self-care, I enjoy practicing yoga, hanging with my cats, spending time with family and friends, and going to coffee shops and record stores. My favorite show is New Girl and in 2019 I studied abroad in Northern Ireland.
Hello, my name is Jodi Jenkins! I am a sophomore at Grand Valley, and I am majoring in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. I'm interested in Peer Education because I want to help de-stigmatize mental health issues. Around campus, I'm also involved in the Cross Country and Track Club, and work at the service desk at the library. One interesting fact about myself is that I am currently giving out succulents to anyone who accepts them because I have too many lined along my windowsill and dresser.
