New Faculty Orientation for Tenure Track, Affiliate and Visiting Faculty

August 9–11, 2023

This orientation will focus on engaging new faculty in a collaborative learning experience focused squarely on student success, community building, and exploration of campus resources for both faculty and students. Program details will be posted on the New Faculty Orientation website.

• Day One: Wednesday, August 9, 2023, 8:30 am -3:00 pm on the Allendale Campus
• Day Two: Thursday, August 10, 2023, 8:30 am -3:00 pm on the Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus
• Day 3: Friday, August 11, 2023, 8:30 am-12:00 pm on the Allendale Campus — For Tenure Track and Research-Engaged Affiliate Faculty 

New Faculty Orientation Alternative Sessions

August 23, 2023 or September 7, 2023

We will be offering two orientation sessions for faculty who were not able to attend the August 9-11 event due to extenuating circumstances. One is designed for new adjunct faculty (August 23) and one that meets shortly after the semester starts (September 7).  Both alternative sessions will be offered in online via Zoom.  Additionally, an online version of orientation is available for those unable to attend any of the synchronous sessions.

CLAS Fall Start Up Meeting

Location: Louis Armstrong Theatre, Haas Center for the Performing Arts

All CLAS faculty and staff are invited to attend this start up meeting which will be followed by a buffet lunch under the tent near Kirkoff Center.
